About Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) and How to Donate

Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) is a category of death in children between the ages of 1 and 18 that remains unexplained after a thorough investigation, including an autopsy. Most often, a seemingly healthy child goes to sleep and never wakes up. At this time we do not know what causes SUDC, how to predict it, or how to prevent it.

The SUDC Foundation is the only organization worldwide whose purpose is to promote awareness, advocate for research, and support those affected by SUDC. SUDC is the fifth leading category of death in children ages 1 to 4, yet SUDC receives no public funding. The SUDC foundation provides all services at no cost to families.

After Gordie died we were left devastated and destroyed staring into the black void that was our future without him. There were no real supports provided and we were left waiting for answers from the death investigation. It was in our own research that we came across the SUDC Foundation. They have provided us with resources, a community of support, and opportunity for further research.
